How to get useful AI suggestions

  • Work in sections. A 200–600 word section gives better, more careful edits than a whole article.
  • Pick a realistic grade. Grade 7–9 suits most web content. Going much lower can strip nuance from technical topics.
  • Check the before-and-after scores. The rewrite is re-scored with the same formulas as the readability checker. If the score barely moves, the original may already be fine.
  • Use “Editor’s notes” when you want to keep your voice. It quotes the exact phrases to change instead of rewriting everything.
  • Always fact-check. The assistant is told not to add facts, but read the result before you publish.

What the AI is and isn’t doing

The readability scores on this site are plain arithmetic: published formulas applied to counts of words, sentences and syllables, calculated in your browser. The AI is used only where arithmetic can’t help: rewording sentences, judging which passive constructions are worth keeping, and suggesting titles. It runs through Vercel AI Gateway, only when you press a button.

What can the AI writing assistant do?

Five things: simplify text to a target reading grade, turn passive voice active, tighten wordy copy, give quoted editor’s notes on readability and SEO, and draft a title tag, meta description and heading ideas. Rewrites are re-scored instantly so you can see whether they actually read easier.

Which AI model is used?

Requests go through Vercel AI Gateway to OpenAI’s GPT-6 Luna, a fast, low-cost model. It is instructed to keep your facts and never invent statistics or sources.

Is my text stored or used for training?

We don’t store it. The text is sent only when you press a button, used to generate that one answer, and not logged by this site. See the privacy page for details.

Is there a limit?

Up to 6,000 characters per request (about 1,000 words) and a handful of requests every few minutes per visitor, to keep the free tool available for everyone. For long articles, work section by section.

Will AI rewriting hurt my SEO?

Search engines judge content on its usefulness, not on how it was drafted. Use the rewrite as a starting point, check facts, keep your own expertise and voice, and make sure your target keyword still fits naturally.
