Short version: your text stays on your device unless you press an AI button.

Readability analysis

All scores, highlights, counts and SEO checks are calculated by JavaScript in your browser. Your text is not sent to a server for these.

What is stored in your browser

To save you re-pasting, your current draft is kept in this browser’s localStorage, shared across the tools on this site. If you press “Save this check”, a copy of the draft and its scores is added to a list of up to 20 saved checks, also in localStorage. Nothing in localStorage is sent to us.

AI features

When you press an AI button, the text in the box (up to 6,000 characters), your chosen options and a one-line summary of its scores are sent to our server and passed to an AI model through Vercel AI Gateway to generate the response. We don’t store the text or the response. Your IP address is held briefly in memory to limit how many requests each visitor can make.

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t see the text you type.

No accounts

There are no sign-ups, logins or databases of user content.
