Our Privacy Commitment

ReadabilityPro is designed with your privacy as a core principle. We believe your content and data should remain yours, and we've built our application to reflect that commitment.

Data Collection & Storage

What We Collect

By default: Nothing. ReadabilityPro performs all analysis directly in your web browser. Your content never leaves your device during standard analysis operations.

Local Storage Only

When you choose to save your analysis history, we store this data exclusively in your browser's IndexedDB storage. This means:

• Your saved analyses stay on your device
• No server-side databases store your content
• You maintain complete control and can delete history anytime
• Data is not synced across devices

AI-Powered Features

When You Use AI Suggestions

When you explicitly request AI-powered writing suggestions, we send your content (or selected portions) to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. This happens only when:

• You click the "Get AI Suggestions" button
• You request sentence simplification
• You request word alternatives
• You request passive-to-active voice conversion

What Gets Sent to Anthropic

When you use AI features, we send:

• The specific text you're requesting help with
• Context about the type of suggestion you want

Anthropic's Data Processing

Anthropic processes your content to generate suggestions. According to Anthropic's policies:

• API requests are not used to train AI models
• Content is processed transiently and not stored long-term

No Account Required

ReadabilityPro does not require registration, login, or user accounts. We don't collect:

• Email addresses
• Names or personal identifiers
• Payment information (the service is free)
• Passwords or credentials

No Third-Party Tracking

We do not use:

• Google Analytics or similar tracking
• Advertising cookies
• Social media tracking pixels
• Third-party analytics services

Data Retention

Browser Storage

Analysis history stored in your browser's IndexedDB remains until you:

• Manually delete individual entries
• Click "Clear All History" in the app
• Clear your browser's local storage/data

No Server-Side Retention

We do not store your content on servers. Any data sent to Anthropic for AI processing is handled according to their retention policies (transient processing, not stored long-term).

Export & Sharing Features

When you use share buttons or URL encoding features:

• Your content is encoded in the URL as parameters
• This happens entirely in your browser
• Shared URLs contain your content—share responsibly
• We don't track or log shared URLs

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data by default, you maintain complete control:

• Access: All your saved analyses are visible in the History panel
• Deletion: You can delete individual analyses or clear all history anytime
• Portability: Export your analyses as PDF or CSV
• Opt-out: Simply don't use AI features if you prefer not to send data externally

Children's Privacy

ReadabilityPro does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The service is intended for general audiences and requires no registration or data submission beyond optional AI feature usage.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.

Security

While we implement reasonable security measures:

• HTTPS encryption protects data in transit
• Local browser storage is isolated per-origin
• AI API calls use secure HTTPS connections

However, since data is stored locally in your browser, your device security is crucial. Keep your device secure with passwords, encryption, and updated software.
